Mathematics and Technology Program

1. Mathematics: Vietnamese Mathematics Curriculum: BMS students study the basic mathematics curriculum of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and BMS's enhanced mathematics program for students with outstanding mathematical thinking abilities starting from grade 1.

Mathematics program in English: Students in System I and System T start in Grade One, while those in System A start in Grade 4.

2. Information Technology: Ban Mai Primary School was recognized by Microsoft as a Microsoft Model School in 2023. BMS students have access to the IC3 Spark international IT program from grade 1.

3. STEAM: STEAM at BMS equips students with knowledge and skills from five fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Students apply their learned knowledge to solve real-life problems and develop essential skills and competencies such as creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication skills.


Language and Social Sciences

Vietnamese Language: BMS combines the Vietnamese Language Program of the Ministry of Education and Training with enhanced, advanced, and supplementary teaching content. Ban Mai Primary School students are guaranteed to have proficient Vietnamese language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) according to the standards of each grade level in general assessments. The BMS Enhanced Vietnamese Language Program is for students with outstanding language abilities in the Talent System classes and student teams.

English and International Programs

Standard System (System A): This English program follows the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), helping students master fundamental knowledge and focusing on developing all four skills. The program aims for an A2 CEFR level of proficiency.

The Talented Students Program (Program T): This program is designed for academically gifted students and aims to develop advanced knowledge and superior learning skills, leading to high academic achievement. Students achieve an A2 level in English according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CERF) and are guided to transition to specialized or high-quality secondary schools.

International System (System I): The Cambridge Integrated Program helps students build a foundation of academic competence according to international standards through subjects taught in English. Students participate in the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint examinations, which award certificates of international primary education by the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).

History, geography

The curriculum is structured into projects, allowing students to independently plan and implement their research with the support of teachers and parents. Through project work, students develop essential skills for 21st-century citizens, such as collaboration, critical thinking, creative thinking, and communication skills.

Art

With the goal of ensuring that students at BMS are proficient in one of three artistic fields after completing 12 years of secondary education: Fine Arts, Music, or Dance, the BMS arts curriculum provides students with comprehensive access to all areas from Grade One: Fine Arts (painting, sculpting, design, and appreciation), Music (vocal performance, instrumental music, and appreciation), and Dance (dancing and choreography).

Exercise and physical fitness

Ban Mai Primary School implements the Physical Education program of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, enhanced with specialized sports such as swimming, football, and basketball. Since 2023, BMS has implemented the Japanese Physical Education program for preschool and primary school levels to develop motor skills and training, helping students cultivate concentration, discipline, dexterity, perseverance, and resilience.

Skills and Career Guidance

- Leader in Me: Helps students develop the skills to meet the challenges of social change, master knowledge, and take action. The goal of the Leader in Me program is to promote holistic development.

- Financial Thinking (Junior Achievement): This program focuses on financial management, career guidance, and entrepreneurship, equipping students with the knowledge to apply financial management to their lives and develop skills such as teamwork, goal setting, and planning. From this, students can assess their own abilities, interests, and values, and make informed financial decisions.

- Survival Skills: Students graduating from primary school at BMS will have completed 5 survival skills corresponding to the 5 grade levels of the After-school Program.

Natural Sciences

BMS students learn Science from grade 4 according to the Vietnamese curriculum and some additional content from the STEAM program to help them develop a more multifaceted and practical perspective on the natural sciences.

For Science (taught in English), students in System I and System T start studying it from grade 1, while those in System A start from grade 4.

Extracurricular programs

Ban Mai Primary School offers a rich variety of extracurricular activities, helping students broaden their practical knowledge, develop essential qualities, self-leadership skills, and hone life skills such as self-care skills, health care skills, fire escape skills, drowning prevention skills, and abuse prevention skills.

After-school Club and Summer Camp

In addition to regular classes, students can register for Afterschool Clubs to explore their individual talents and interests, such as Science, English, Skills, Sports, and Arts. Summer Camp programs also offer students opportunities to discover themselves and the world.
